Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. This past week was a ton of fun but very stressful at the same time. In my International Business course we were put into groups of three the first week for a presentation. My group was chosen to go first and consisted of 2 other Americans. The one kid said he would take down everyone's emails and would email us to meet up in the next day or two to work on our presentation. All last week I would constantly check my email in hopes of receiving an email from him in regards to setting a day to meet. I then emailed my tutor (teacher) asking if he had my groupmates email so I could email them, and he did not. I left for surf camp on Friday night and still had not heard from the kid. I got back Sunday and still no email from him. I received his email at 10 pm on Sunday night, and we were scheduled to present tuesday at 9am. My Monday schedule is very hectic with class from 10-2 and then 6-8. I decided that I should just drop the course, since this presentation was worth 15% of my overall grade and our whole group received the same score. It was a 20 minute presentation and there was no way of us rushing to put it together since I doubt they did any research for it. It's too bad because I was enjoying the class but need to get high marks on my courses here.
On a lighter note, I left for surf camp Friday night. There were around 20 people from my apartment complex that were also going on this trip. My friend Miikka from Finland and I took a bus an hour away to where the surf camp people where picking us up. The guy Nathan who picked us up was your typical Australian surf bum. There were like 60 of us on the bus which was a huge coach bus with a nice flat screen TV in it for us to watch movies on the way there. The trip took about 4 hours and was at a place called Arrawarra. The surf camp was called Spot X and consisted of several cottage type places and was right on the ocean. We arrived at 2am and went right to bed, since we started surf lessons at 8am.

Saturday consisted of 2 group surf lessons, which last about 2 hours each. The weather was overcast most of the time and we got some rain, which since the water was so warm it didn't even matter. We had some free time between lessons where Nathan (one of the surf guys) took us to a bottle shop (liquor store) to buy beverages for the party that was that night. The party was a garbage bag theme, where you were supposed wear just a garbage bag. It was a lot of fun! Sunday we had our last surf lesson. It was pretty rough out there in the morning with pretty big swells. We got beat up for a while but toward the end I was able to to ride the waves a lot longer than before coming so I was stoked. I'm waiting for the photographer to post the pictures she took of us surfing so as soon as I get them I will post them to my blog as well!
After that, we packed up and headed to Byron Bay, which is a small town that is famous for its beautiful beaches this awesome Lighthouse that sits on a hill overlooking the ocean. We didn't have time to go up to it but you could see it from the distance. I will have to make another trip back there. It's just about 1 1/2 hours south of where I am so it would be an awesome place to spend a whole weekend. Miikka and I stopped at this small fish and chips place and had the most amazing fish and chips I've ever had it was so FRESH.
Awesome views driving to Byron Bay
Freshest fish and chips ever!

A group of my friends and I are headed to Melbourne on Thursday for a long weekend! It's about an hour and a half flight and is supposed to be an awesome place. We are looking to plan a day tour to see the great open road so I am really looking forward to that!
That will probably be my last trip until after my mid-semester exams.
Hope everyone has a great week and I will be posting either when I get my surf pictures or after my Melbourne trip this weekend.
